The Spring Fling Street Festival is back! Into its 38th year, our festival continues to grow as a key community and cultural highlight in Melbourne’s events calendar.

This Sunday (18 October), over 15,000 people will trek in to see Victoria Street’s, Errol Street’s and surrounding laneways’ transformation from 11am – 6pm into an action packed hive of live music, shopping, free activities and delicious cuisines.

The Centre, a not-for-profit community organisation based at 58 Errol Street, produces this festival annually to celebrate North and West Melbourne as a connected, creative community. This year’s festival will include:

Sound Forest Stage – Spring Fling Festival is partnering up with several North Melbourne venues to bring quality local, up-and-coming musicians to entertain us for the day. Come along to support these makers of fine tunes while you enjoy a beer in the sun and delicious food from various food vans;

Cultural Forest Stage – After its successful 2014 debut, the Cultural Forest Stage will again showcase a range of local community performances highlighting the diversity of Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs. Neighbourhood food vendors will cook up a range of popular cuisines, while you’re transported across the world by the colour and music in this hub of cultural celebration;

Suitcase Rummage @ Spring Fling – New to Spring Fling in 2015, we welcome Suitcase Rummage! Originally operating in Brisbane to bring people ‘back to the town square’, it’s now in its third successful year and has expanded through many Australian cities. Rummagers can expect to find trash and treasure alongside arts and crafts, while being encouraged to bargain, swap or brave an old-fashioned haggle;

The Dog Show – A firm favourite on the Spring Fling program, this event draws a large crowd each year to find the most obedient, best-dressed pooch. Attendees are welcome to bring their best mate along on the day to compete for the grand prize, chat to teams from Lort Smith Animal Hospital and The Lost Dog’s Home, then sit back on the grass for a Q&A with one of North Melbourne’s most experienced vets. Registrations from 11am, Dog Show starts at 1pm.

There are many other exciting things to see and do on Spring Fling’s magic day on Errol Street and surrounds, the heart of North Melbourne. Keep up to date on all the latest news by following Spring Fling Festival’s Facebook page: facebook.com/springflingstreetfest14
